Walking Ridge offers website design services and consulting to optimize your internet marketing effort.
Besides providing a creative outlet, this website provides a test lab for SEO (search engine optimization). The expectation was that it would take six months or more to get a target search phrase onto page one of Google.. On February 26, 2007 WalkingRidge.com focused on the handmade "Aqua Fuzz" guitar effects pedal. This was a brand new product, totally unknown. The target search phrase for the SEO was handmade fuzz pedal. After just 41 days, on April 7 Walking Ridge was number one on both Google and MSN!
The next experiment in Search Engine Optimization targeted the phrase "Zen Blues Harmonica" to promote my online class. When I started development of the class I put in a page for search engines to find that indicated the class was coming soon. Four weeks later, on October 5, the Google search engine placed my "Zen Blues Harp Online Class" on the first page, just behind two entries from Amazon.com!
My search engine optimization was so successful, that I had gotten my product into the search engines before it was finished!
Of course, search engine optimization results like this cannot be guaranteed. The number and expertise of competing websites will affect SEO results, but designing your website for optimized search engine performance will improve your search ranking.
